A Selection Of Your Comments ~ January 2010-  2015

September 2015

Hi Christine,
As soon as I heard Professor Collinge speaking on the news yesterday, I thought of you.  I also bought The Times and The Independent, both of which had front page articles about the connection between Alzheimers and CJD.  I intended sending the links to you this morning but now I would think you already have them.

The story that was missing from the papers was YOUR story.  The story of a devoted mother who made a promise to her beloved son.  I cannot think of sufficient words to express how much I admire your courage and the vast store of Love that has enabled you to continue your fight for justice for Andy.

Even if you never achieve public recognition for your struggle, those people who have been privileged to share your story will always honour you.  What you have done for your son, you have done for everyone and we will always be grateful.

God Bless You,
Love,
Karyse

Hi Christine

Who killed my son?

I’ve just finished reading your book. Thank you for having the courage to write and the love and courage to keep fighting.

The Government seem hell bent on trying to make us all forget BSE  happened.

Warmest wishes

Kerensa

Dear Christine

I’ll probably never know if I have or will suffer from this horrendous disease. But I wish you every success. Your ordeal must have been horrendous and heartbreaking.

Since reading your book Who killed my son?  I’m currently trying to phrase a suitable email to my local MP outlining how my feelings towards their ilk has gone from a limited contempt to outright disgust. It appears the law of the jungle still rules supreme, the strong and fortunate succeed, the weak go to the wall.

Yours respectfully

Andy

August 2013

My name is Zack age 18, FL, USA.
I recently came across the Inside Out program.
I sobbed. I knew nothing of the gravity of the problem
of vCJD, made worse by the resounding apathy and
rampant corruption between the government and the beef
industry. There's no doubt that this is a worldwide
problem.

Ma'am, any child would be proud to call you their mother.
Although Andrew left much too soon Once again, no
consolation, but it's better to have known and loved
an extraordinary person for a very short time
than to have known and loved an ordinary person
for a lifetime.

Zack

Christine,

I have used your website as a reference source several times when talking to people online about BSE and CJD to correct misconceptions and provided additional information, and will be able to supplement that by pointing people in the direction of your book.

Hi Christine

I am a veterinary student in South Africa.

Today during our Public Health lecture on zoonotic diseases we watched your documentary about Andrew. The whole class was silenced by your story. It had a really big impact as one student looked at another and said a silent prayer of thanks for the privilege of a healthy life as a 24year old.

We have not been affected by BSE and CJD as you have in the UKbut have studied it both from a veterinary and human health perspective as many of us will go on to practice or have some experience abroad.

I feel the veterinary industry has great potential to make a difference to this cause. Your story has inspired us all to be more active in the prevention and treatment of this disease. Thank you

Kind regards

Karen van der Walt

Dear Christine,

It’s terrible to read of your loss and all those affected by vCJD. I hadn’t realised BSE was still in existence.

Thankyou for your tireless work in uncovering the truth,

Best wishes,

Dear Christine,
it would appear that your long and sustained campaign on behalf of Andrew is about to be supported by recent events concerning horse meat. This scandal supports your belief that too much information remains secret by those in the know. May you continue and succeed in your quest.
Kind regards.
Terry

Hi Christine,

I read your blog with concern and appreciate all you do to let us, the public, know what is going on.  You are a brave mother and your work is not going unnoticed.  Thank you for your devotion.  With love,

Christine,

Andrew was a beautiful baby and grew to be a handsome young man – its tragic and heart-breaking what happened to him.

I admire your tenacity, keep healthy and strong to go on with the campaign.

Since becoming aware that vCJD had not gone away I have stopped eating meat of any kind.

Christine,

Your site, love for Andy and dedication are an inspiration to all those wronged by the doctors, covert health protection agency and government cover up.

Use of alternative dementia diagnosis, coversion disorder and other classifications is the current injustice, as is moving MV and VV codon 129 people away from vcjd to atypical scjd. both in life and on death certificates. Sadly, I am sure it will go on for decades to come to hide the truth. ons.

I am greatful that you are maintainting the slow but much needed battle for justice.

kind regards,

Christine,

You are a very strong mother and journalist. I cannot believe that pieces of diseased cow brain and spinal cord were put in school dinners! It’s an abomination. I am currently doing my masters in neuroscience at KCL and studying CJD, and I am glad that you exposed this since we don’t get taught this. I hope we find a treatment for future CJD cases. I am so sorry this happened to your family.

Dear Christine,

I just wached the BBC documentary about your son and your fight for justice.

I want to say that you are a very brave person. Your way of dealing with this real nightmare touched me very inside.
You really impressed me.

It made me feel how I would act if somebody of my relatives would suffer from the same.
Thank you for courage to make the awful destiny of your family public.

I wish you all the best, and a lot of strength!

With kindest regards

Sincerely yours,

Dear Christine,

First of all, I’m very sorry for the great loss of your son.
I am 15 years old and I live in The Netherlands, for a school project I have to write an essay about a prion disease.
Because of your documentary, I became interested, touched and inspired to chose CJD as my subject.
Your power and struggles made me realize how incredibly difficult but inspiring job the motherhood of a sick child is.

I wish you the best.

Kinds regards,

Anna

Dear Mrs Lord,

I fully support your campaign for safe blood and justice for vCJD victims. DEAR CHRISTINE,

OUR HEARTS GO TO YOU IN YOUR SORROW OF LOSING YOUR BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT AND TALENTED BOY. HE LOOKS LIKE A FINE YOUNG MAN….AND IT IS JUST ATROCIOUS WHAT HAD HAPPENED TO HIM, HE DID NOT DESERVE THAT JUST LIKE OTHER VICTIMS OF VCJD. IT IS TRULY INSPIRING TO SEE HOW STRONG YOU ARE AND THAT YOU WANT TO BRING THOSE WHO CAUSED IT TO JUSTICE.

YOUR SON IS SMILING FROM HEAVEN AND HE IS PROUD OF YOU.
WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WELL.

DON, LISA. (NEW YORK)

3rd April 2011

Hi Christine,

I think like you there is more than one source of infection with CJD.I think the two boys vaccinated against Polio who died of CJD clearly show this. I think there are far too many links for the government to be able to deny that they know where the problem might have originated. I think personally the government try to cover it up as much as possible due to the highly likely loss of trade in the meat industry. And the loss in trade with regards to vaccinations from pharmaceutical companies. I. I think someday through sheer determination the truth will come out showing where CJD originated. It won’t bring your son back, but I think it will give you some peace to know you did your best for him. .

I wish you all the best in your efforts…

Kind Regards, Chris

15th March 2011

Dear Christine,

We must not let them deny the truth. Unlike you I am not a victim but next time who knows? It could be my family my children my grand children. There are people in government who not only know but are prepared to take criminal action to conceal that knowledge it is not wrong to ensure whatever the personal costs that they are brought to justice. What is the saying :- “Governments do evil things because the majority stay silent”

Christine, I have just read your (Andy’s) story and the excellent investigative journalist reports relating to vCJD, and that of the many other people infected by this man made
disease. It is not possible to put into words the grief, pain and anguish you, the families and loved ones have endured over the past years and indeed continue to endure and relive the experience as new cases are diagnosed.

My love and thoughts are with you and the many people mentioned on your blog affected by vCJD. .

Christine, What you do is not in vain. Someday you will reap joy for all the sadness, for all the tears. And those responsible for Andrew and all the others – the very thing that they have grovelled and clawed for; trampling underfoot the defenceless and innocent in their quest for wealth and power, that very thing will destroy them in the end.

Oh that every boy had a Mother like you!

Dear Christine, your blog reinforces the case against all those involved

The `honourables` have done a fair impression of a characters from `Yes Minister`, & spent more time & effort on saving themselves than the victims!

This must be recognised as one of the major tragedies of the century, the after effects will be felt well into the 22nd century it must be fully expected that we’ll `have a death dance partner` for many years to come.
